10 WAYS TO CREATE YOUR OWN BEACH STAY-CATION DURING COVID

Blue ocean cover searching for ways to create your own staycation during COVID

In these times, our homes have now become our home office, our daycare, schools, restaurants, and just about everything else, so why not make it a hotel? You don't need to leave your home to feel like you are on a beach vacation. We have crafted a list of 9 ways to create the ultimate stay-at-home vacation while we are stuck at home. Now, you can bring the beach to you with this go-to guide. Here are some great ways to transport yourself without breaking the bank.

MAKE YOUR BED OR TIDY YOUR SPACE

This may be one of the most essential ways to relax, unwind, and feel like you have escaped. Make this space feel fresh and inviting by doing your laundry ahead of time, picking up those toys on the floor, or putting the dog bed in the hallway. One great way to make your room feel like you just had room service, is to turn down your bed and maybe spritz some lavender on the pillows.

LIGHT A COZY COASTAL CANDLE

To create the ultimate coastal touch, be sure to include one of our coastal-inspired candles. Based on the science that scent is the strongest trigger of memory, we have uniquely crafted our candles to transport you to the beach of your choice. Have fun, and choose your destination with one of our destination-based candles. Whether you want to go to Malibu, the Mediterranean, Montauk or the Bahamas, we have a candle for you.

WEAR YOUR FAVORITE LINEN, BEACH LOUNGEWEAR, OR A ROBE

One of our favorite ways to relax and feel faraway is to wear a cozy robe or some light linen. If you don't have linen, you won't regret the investment. Now, there are a lot of retailers offering sales on summer styles, so it may be the best time to buy. Consider upping your casual wear or just chose your favorite bathrobe if you're on a budget.

DISCONNECT FROM YOUR DEVICES

Unplug and disconnect. Spending so much time at home has made us lose boundaries from work time, playtime, and family time. Take some me-time by turning on the snooze button and disconnecting from your devices.

GET SOME VITAMIN D

It can be easy to forget to go outside when our whole lives are now stuck at home. Soak in some sun and boost your Vitamin D by opening the curtains in your room, walking outside, or taking a step out onto your patio. Fifteen minutes of fresh air and sun will have you feeling refreshed.

TRY A COASTAL INSPIRED COCKTAIL OR WATER WITH CUT FRUIT

No vacation is complete without a tropical drink in your hand. We have crafted a list of coastal-inspired cocktails to accompany your stay-cation. From a St. Maarten Mango Bellini or Cayman Citrus, we have a few new favorites to add to your roundup. If you don't drink alcohol, try infusing water with fresh-cut fruits like cucumber, pineapple, or lemon. Get creative!

READ A BOOK

If airplanes and beach chairs are the only time you get to get around to reading, take the time now. Curl up with your cocktails and candles and make it a slow, self-care kind of night.

TAKE A BATH

For those of you who have one, now is the time to use it. There is nothing more relaxing than a luxurious bubble bath.

MEDITATE OR PRACTICE YOGA

Finally, get your head in the right state of mind with some meditation or light yoga. Boho Beautiful leads a fabulous gentle candlelit yoga practice that will help you wind down - even better - most of her classes are taught on a beach.
